Thousands of state transport undertakings (STU) employees held a strike in Bangalore (Karnataka state) on Thursday, February 20, to demand that they be recognized as government employees. Several participants also reportedly gathered in Freedom Park to stage a sit-in and hunger strike. According to local sources, bus services were unaffected by the strike.
