Rival cult groups clash in the Surulere district of Lagos Monday, December 16; heightened security measures and transportation disruptions reported

Two rival groups have reportedly engaged with each other using live ammunitions between Pako, Aguda, and Cassette neighborhoods located in the Surelere district of Lagos as of the morning (local time) on Monday, December 16. Roadblocks and business looting have been reported. Unconfirmed reports stated two people were shot. Security forces have been deployed to secure the area.

Heightened security measures along with transportation and business disruptions are expected in the vicinity of the incident in the coming hours.
