Niger: Nationwide university professor strike September 3-7

Unions representing university professors have called for a nationwide strike to be held from Monday, September 3, to Friday, September 7. According to union representatives, the strike is being organized to demand the payment of salary arrears. Associated demonstrations are possible in cities throughout Niger and notably in Niamey. A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are to be anticipated in the vicinity of any protests.
