Mexico: Protests scheduled in Mexico City, other cities February 14, 15

Groups schedule various protests in Mexico City, other urban centers on February 14, 15; transportation disruptions likely

Feminist groups have called for demonstrations in Mexico City and other areas on Friday, February 14, in response to a recent murder case involving a woman who was killed by her partner. Participants in Mexico City are expected to gather at the National Palace throughout the entire day, at the Bellas Artes museum at 16:00 (local time), a the Caballito at 16:00, at La Raza metro station at 17:00, and on Saturday, February 15, at the Gustavo A. Madero metrobus station.

Associated protests will take place in Monterrey, and Veracruz, and many other urban centers on Friday. Other cities including Guadalajara, Ciudad Victoria, and Ciudad de Juarez will hold protests on Saturday.

Associated transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence are expected in the vicinity of the protests.
