Residents of Palma de Mallorca, particularly those employed in the hospitality sector, plan to protest Jan. 12 against measures imposed to stem the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Participants will gather outside the Consulat de Mar on Carrer de la Llotja around 1100. Attendance will likely not exceed the low hundreds.

Police will likely deploy to monitor the protest and may move to disperse the participants, as demonstrations, protests, and other public events have largely been prohibited in Spain due to COVID-19 restrictions.
