Police have partially closed highway PR-26, also known as Expreso Baldorioty de Castro, in Carolina, Puerto Rico, Jan. 11, following an earlier shooting incident that occurred along the thoroughfare. The shooting, which occurred in front of the Embassy Suites Hotel near Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU), left at least one police officer dead and an unspecified number of other persons wounded.

Transport disruptions near the airport will likely continue in the coming hours as authorities complete their investigation into the shooting.

Allow additional time for travel along highway PR-26, particularly if traveling to or from SJU Jan. 11. Strictly heed the instructions of authorities.
