The Communist Party of Vietnam will hold its 13th National Party Congress in Hanoi Jan. 25-Feb. 2. Events will likely occur at the Vietnam National Convention Center, My Dinh National Stadium, and state buildings such as the National Assembly. Hundreds to thousands of party members will likely participate in the congress, though events may be smaller than past congresses due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) restrictions. The congress will also involve hundreds of security personnel and healthcare workers.

Authorities will almost certainly heighten security measures, including setting up checkpoints in Hanoi, especially at the program sites. Localized transport disruptions are likely.
