Context

Cameroon's English-speaking zones are experiencing increased levels of violence as armed groups continue to call for secession. Government security forces frequently skirmish with Anglophone separatists, regularly leading to casualties. Local authorities have been unable to halt violence between police and separatists in recent years, increasing the dangers for those operating or traveling in Cameroon's English-speaking regions. More than 30 armed secessionist groups operate across the Northwest and Southwest regions in Cameroon. Groups vary across towns and provinces and usually use criminality and kidnapping as part of their operations.

Advice

Consider avoiding the Limbe Omnisport Stadium and surrounding areas for the duration of the tournament. Exercise increased vigilance if operating in areas affected by violence. Heed the directives of the authorities.
