According to belated reports, an explosion occurred at Building 6 of the First Affiliated Hospital at Zhejiang University's School of Medicine in Hangzhou at around 1055 Jan. 22. The blast injured at least three hospital employees and one patient. Police have captured a suspect in the explosion but have yet to confirm the motivation for the incident.

A security cordon is likely still in place near the blast site. A heightened security presence will probably continue in the coming hours until police complete an investigation into the incident. The response may limit some operations at the affected building. Localized transport disruptions are likely to continue in the vicinity.
