An emergency response is ongoing at Building 6 of the First Affiliated Hospital at Zhejiang University's School of Medicine in Hangzhou the afternoon of Jan. 22. Police indicate that an explosion occurred at around 1055, injuring at least three hospital employees and one patient. Police have captured a suspect in the blast but have yet to confirm the motivation for the incident.

A heightened security presence will probably continue in the coming hours until police complete an investigation into the incident. The response may limit some operations at Building 6 and nearby buildings at the hospital. Lingering transport disruptions are likely in the vicinity.
