Somalia: Explosion in Mogadishu early Jan. 23; casualties reported

An improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in Mogadishu early Jan. 23. The incident reportedly occurred in the Shibis District and targeted a former lawmaker. Casualties have been reported. Unconfirmed social media accounts suggest that as many as four people may have been killed. There have been no claims of responsibility.
