Workers affiliated with the National Trade Union Federation (NTUF) plan to hold a protest in the Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE) area of Karachi Jan. 28. Organizers are denouncing poor working conditions for textile workers in Karachi. Unconfirmed sources claim protesters will gather at Habib Bank Chowrangi. Organizers have not announced a starting time for the demonstration. The protest will likely attract between dozens to a couple hundred people.

Security personnel will likely monitor the protest and may try to break the rally up of it is especially disruptive. Clashes between security forces and protesters are possible, especially if police forcibly attempt to disperse demonstrators. Protesters may block or march along roadways, causing localized transport disruptions.
