Pakistan: Heightened security measures ahead of New Year celebrations in Punjab on December 31

The Punjab home department requested police to deploy increased security measures around churches ahead of New Year's Eve celebrations on Tuesday, December 31. Additional police personnel, security checks, business closures, and removal of all abandoned vehicles in the vicinity of places of worship and other strategic areas are expected.

Associated localized transportation and business disruptions are expected near churches across the province.
