Officials at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport (YYZ) announce flight disruptions due to snow December 2-3; confirm flight reservation



Officials at Pearson International Airport (YYZ) in Toronto (Ontario province) announced disruptions to domestic and international flight operations on Tuesday, December 2, due to snow. At least 30 flights are delayed or canceled from 16:25 (local time) on Tuesday, with several scheduled delays and cancelations also expected on Wednesday, December 3.

The Canadian meteorology agency forecasts wind moving in a northeast direction at 20 kph (12 mph) with gusts of up to 40 kph (25 mph) in Toronto on Tuesday evening. As of Tuesday evening, weather warnings for freezing rain, snowfall, winter storm, wind, and blizzards are in place in several provinces, including Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Quebec, and Yukon.

Associated power outages and disruptions to transportation and business services are possible in affected areas over the coming days. Lingering flight delays and cancelations are anticipated.
