India: Organizations plan to block roads nationwide across India December 6

The Adivasi Senghal Abhiyan (ASA) tribal organization and Janata Dal (United) party plan to block roads nationwide across India Dec. 6 to demand the central government pass a separate religious code for the Adivasi Sarna community. Organizers argue the separate code is crucial for tribal communities to retain their cultural and religious identity. The highest participation is likely in Jharkhand, Bihar, Assam, Odisha, and West Bengal states, where ASA is based, as well as Chhattisgarh State.
