Three people have been killed due to floods in Mituge district (Cabo Delgado province) as of Monday, December 30. Further, at least 9000 people remain impacted throughout the province following heavy rains and associated floods, which affected the northern regions of the country in recent weeks. Severe infrastructure damages have also been reported. Authorities have issued a flood warning for the area.

Individuals the affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, anticipate transportation disruptions, avoid areas directly affected by flooding, confirm road conditions before setting out, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities. Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters; 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
