India: Northeast Frontier Railway cancels some train service Jan. 15–Feb. 2
Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) suspends train service between Alipurduar and Delhi from January 15 to February 2 due to upcoming foggy season; additional service disruptions possible

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) announced on Tuesday, January 14, that some train service between Delhi and Alipurduar (West Bengal state) has been canceled from Wednesday, January 15, through Sunday, February 2, due to the upcoming foggy season. Sikkim Mahananda Express from Alipurduar to Delhi will be suspended from January 15 to Friday, January 31. Scheduled Sikkim Mahananda Express trains from Delhi to Alipurduar from Friday, January 17, to February 2 have also been canceled. The NFR also announced that a large number of trains between Dibrugarh (Assam state) and New Tinsukia/Tinsukia are also being canceled or diverted due to interruptions to rail communication between the two stations.
