Event

Members of the "Noo Lank" civil society group have called for a demonstration in Dakar on Friday, January 31, against the rise of electricity costs in Senegal. Protests will also call for the release of an activist arrested in a related protest on Friday, November 29. The march is expected to take place between Cheikh Anta Diop University and the Medina Post Office.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are to be expected near any demonstration site. Clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out.

Advice
