Ghana: Demonstration expected in Accra February 4

A large demonstration will reportedly be held in Accra on February 4; heightened security presence and traffic disruptions expected



A large demonstration is expected to be held in the capital Accra on Tuesday, February 4. According to the US Embassy, participants may gather as early as 06:00 (local time). Protesters are expected to march through central Accra, but as of Monday, February 3, an exact route has not been released.

While the demonstration is expected to be peaceful, a heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are anticipated around all protest sites.


Individuals in Accra are advised to avoid all demonstrations as a precaution, monitor developments to the situation, anticipate transportation disruptions, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
