Italy: Flooding kills three in Sardinia November 28

Flooding caused by heavy rains has killed at least three people in Sardinia as of Saturday, November 28. Strong winds and rain have impacted the island since Friday, November 27, and have cut off power to some and forced others to evacuate; roads have also been inundated. Particularly affected areas include Bitti (Nuoro province), where the mayor asked citizens to exercise heightened caution. There are also fears of flooding in Nuoro's Torpè and Galtellì; 150 people were moved from Galtellì to municipal facilities by emergency services as a precaution.

Further adverse weather is to be expected in the coming hours and days. Residual disruptions to transport, businesses, and utilities are possible in the near term following the flooding.
