Singapore: ASEAN Summit November 11-15

Increased security measures ahead of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit November 11-15; associated transportation disruptions expected

Singapore is set to host the 33rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit from Sunday, November 11, through Thursday, November 15. The summit is scheduled to be held at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Local police have announced the demarcation of a special restricted zone around the location of the summit. Road closures are expected during the summit in the vicinity of the exhibition center along with associated transportation disruptions. Increased congestion and a heightened security presence are to be anticipated at local transportation hubs, including Singapore Changi Airport (SIN).

Individuals present in Singapore during the summit are advised to anticipate heightened security measures throughout the city and increased traffic congestion (particularly at major travel hubs) and allow for additional travel time. Adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
