Authorities canceled all flights to and from Srinagar Airport (SXR) on the morning (local time) of Thursday, January 16, due to low visibility and the accumulation of snow on the runway. Heavy snowfall across the Kashmir Valley has affected flight operations at SXR since Sunday, January 12. Although conditions are expected to improve over the coming days, another spell of snow is forecast to hit the area from Tuesday, January 21, to Friday, January 24.
