On Monday, February 10, the Fiji Meteorological service forecast that Cyclone Uesi, currently a Category 2 tropical storm, will pass near Vanuatu on Monday, February 10. The storm is predicted to continue in Vanuatu until Tuesday, February 11.

Reports indicate that Uesi should not severely affect Vanuatu but may reach Severe Category 3 status before hitting New Caledonia. Strong winds, heavy rain, and dangerous seas are expected.
