Border police officer shot in Jerusalem on February 6; expect heightened security presence

A border police officer was shot in Jerusalem on Thursday, February 6, amid rising tensions in the country and territories. The incident took place near Temple Mount and Lion's Gate, where the shooter was killed by police forces. The incident comes several hours after another attack on police in which 14 soldiers were injured in Jerusalem.

A heightened security presence is to be expected throughout Israel, though especially in Jerusalem and in the West Bank.
