Nationalist march scheduled in Warsaw for August 1; avoid all demonstrations

A nationalist march is scheduled to take place in Warsaw on Saturday, August 1. The demonstration is being held in support of the anniversary of the start of the 1944 Warsaw uprising. Rival demonstrations are also scheduled to coincide with the event. Supporters of the nationalist organization are scheduled to gather at 17:00 (local time) at the Roman Dmowski roundabout before marching to Krasinskich square. A counter-protest is also scheduled from 17:30 - 20:00 at the Maly Powstaniec monument. Clashes between protesters cannot be ruled out.

A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions should be anticipated in the area; further protests and associated disruptions are possible in the near term.

Those in the area are advised to monitor the situation, avoid all protests as a precaution, remain vigilant, and adhere to instructions issued by the local authorities.
