Myanmar: Demonstrations scheduled in Yangon and Mandalay December 10

According to US diplomatic authorities, demonstrations in support of State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi are scheduled to be held in Yangon and Mandalay on Tuesday, December 10. Suu Kyi is set to appear before the International Court of Justice on Tuesday to defend Myanmar against accusations of genocide. The demonstration in Yangon will be held at Mahabandula Park from 13:00 to 15:30 (local time). Organizers have yet to announce a meeting location for the Mandalay demonstration.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are expected near any protest site.
