France: Bad weather conditions force Ajaccio Airport (Corsica) to close Dec. 23

Ajaccio airport closes due to inclement weather December 23; lingering flight delays possible over the coming days

Warning

Event

Bad weather conditions forced Corsica's Ajaccio-Napoleon Bonaparte Airport (AJA) to remain closed on Monday, December 23, following the passage of Storm Fabien, which flooded the runway. It remains unclear when normal operations will resume. Local authorities have announced that some flights would be diverted to Bastia-Poretta (BIA) airport and shuttles put in place to link both cities.

Lingering flight delays are possible at AJA over the coming days.

Advice

Individuals traveling via AJA are advised to monitor local weather reports, prepare for flight disruptions, and contact their airline for more information.
