At least six killed in three separate explosions across Baghdad on November 26; similar incidents possible over the near term

At least six people were killed and 15 others wounded in three separate explosions across Baghdad on Tuesday, November 26. Three people were killed and five wounded in Shaab district when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) exploded. A second VBIED detonated in Bayaa district, killing two and wounding six. An improvised explosive device (IED) reportedly went off in Baladiyat district, killing one person and wounding four. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the blasts.

A heightened security presence is to be expected in the affected areas over the coming hours. Similar attacks are possible in Baghdad over the near term.
