Costa Rica: Protest planned in San José March 5

Civil groups schedule protest in San José on March 5; transportation disruptions expected

The Members of the national Front for Social Security (Frenass) have called for a protest in San José on Thursday, March 5, to denounce the possibility of privatizing the country's health system. Participants are set to gather at the National Children's Hospital and will march to the social security office at an undisclosed time.

Associated transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence are expected in the vicinity of the protests.

Individuals in San José are advised to avoid all protests as a precaution, monitor the situation, allow ample travel time, and obey instructions issued by local authorities.
