El Salvadorian authorities report that at least nine people were killed, seven injured and one remains missing after a landslide struck 135 houses in the town of Nejapa (San Salvador department) on Thursday, October 29, at approximately 23:00 (local time). The landslide was reportedly caused by heavy rainfall in recent days. Residual disruptions are expected in affected areas as rescue and recovery operations are carried out. Further adverse weather is possible in the coming days and could bring further landslides and associated disruptions.
