Panama: Drinking water supply to Panama City will be cut August 18

The supply of drinking water to Panama City will be suspended due to maintenance from 00:00 to 16:00 on August 18

Panama City will lose its supply of drinking water on Saturday, August 18 from 00:00 to 16:00 (local time). The National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN) announced the disruption of service and noted that tanker trucks will supply water to hospitals and other critical centers. It will likely take 24 to 48 hours after the resumption of service at 16:00 for the drinking water system to be fully operational, with service returning to higher elevation areas of Panama City last.

Individuals in Panama City are advised to prepare for the disruption and obtain adequate supplies of bottled water prior to August 18.
