Madagascar: Opposition demonstrators to gather in Antananarivo October 3

Opposition demonstrators will gather in Antananarivo on October 3; avoid all protests

The Tamami party has organized a demonstration to be held in Antananarivo on Saturday, October 3, in front of the Ministry of Communication and Culture. The demonstrations comes amid an opposition boycott of the December 11 senate elections.

Additional associated protests are possible in the near term. Localized disruptions and a heightened security presence are anticipated in the vicinity of the rally. Clashes between demonstrators and police forces cannot be ruled out.

Those in Antananarivo are advised to avoid all protests, monitor the situation, anticipated localized disruptions, and heed all instructions issued by local authorities.
