Civil society group to protest in Dakar December 20; heightened security presence and transportation disruptions expected



The Nio Lank civil society group has called for a protest in Dakar on Friday, December 20, to denounce the increased price of electricity and demand the release of an activist arrested on Friday, November 29, in a related protest. Participants plan to gather from 15:00 to 18:00 (local time) at Place de l'Independence.

Associated transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence are to be expected in the vicinity of the protest.
