Small plane crashes in open field in Lafayette (Louisiana state) on December 28; at least 5 dead



At least 5 people were killed when a small passenger plane crashed in an open field in Lafayette (Louisiana state) on Saturday, December 28. The plane, bound for Atlanta (Georgia state), crashed shortly after takeoff from Lafayette Regional Airport (LFT) on Saturday morning (local time). In addition to the fatalities, two bystanders were reportedly injured in the incident. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
