Brazil: President calls for supporters to demonstrate nationwide March 15

President Jair Bolsonaro has called for his supporters to hold demonstrations nationwide on Sunday, March 15, to show their support for him. Similar pro-Bolsonaro demonstrations in May of 2019 brought tens of thousands of people to the streets of urban centers across Brazil.

A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions, including traffic congestion and road closures, are to be expected in the vicinity of any demonstration site. Counter-demonstrations and clashes between protesters and security forces are possible.
