Event

The National Civil Aviation Workers Union (SINTAC) representing workers at the ground handling company Portway have called for another nationwide strike from Wednesday, January 1, through Tuesday, March 31. The work stoppage is due to affect Lisbon Portela airport (LIS), Porto's Francisco Sá Carneiro airport (OPO), Faro airport (FAO), and Madeira airport (FNC) should it go ahead. At least 25 domestic and international flights were canceled between Saturday, December 28, and Sunday, December 29, due to a similar strike organized by SINTAC. Disruptions to airport operations, including flight delays, are possible as a result of the strike.

Advice

Individuals traveling to or from Portugal are advised to monitor developments to the situation, anticipate disruptions to airport operations, confirm flight reservations, contact your airline for more information, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
