President Tsai Ing-wen secures second term with landslide victory over Nationalist Party candidate Han Kuo-yu

President Tsai Ing-wen was reelected to a second term on Saturday, January 11, after receiving 57.2 percent of the vote. Han Kuo-yu of the Nationalist Party, which maintains close relations with China, garnered 38.6 percent of votes. Tsai's Democratic Progressive Party also won a majority in parliament.
