A 5.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded by the US Geological Survey (USGS) off the coast of Sami on Sunday, January 19. The quake hit at around 04:52 (local time) about 8 km (5 mi) east-southeast at a depth of 10 km (6 mi). No tsunami warning was immediately issued. As of 06:40, no damages or associated disruptions have been reported.
