Amtrak train service between Seattle (Washington state) and Portland (Oregon state) was temporarily suspended on Tuesday, January 7, after a landslide blocked a portion of the track. Operations to clear the track are underway and Amtrak will provide an alternate bus service for passengers traveling between the two cities. Normal service is reportedly expected to resume at 08:00 (local time) on Thursday, January 9.

Residual disruptions, including train delays and cancelations, are possible over the coming days.
