Border police shoot stabbing suspect near Jerusalem’s Lion’s Gate on February 22; increased security presence possible



Israeli border police shot and killed a Palestinian near Jerusalem's Lion's Gate, suspected of aiming to carry out a stabbing attack, on Saturday, February 22. The suspect was reportedly running while wielding a knife when border police shot and killed him. A passerby was wounded in the incident. A heightened security presence is likely in the area over the coming hours.
