Afghan National Police officer kills seven colleagues in insider attack in Zabul province December 12, transferring weapons to Taliban; similar incidents possible over the near term



An Afghan National Police officer reportedly killed seven of his colleague staffers in Shahr-e Safa district (Zabul province) on Thursday, December 12, confiscating their weapons from a checkpoint and transferring them to the Taliban after the insider attack. The Taliban did not immediately comment on the assault.

Similar incidents are possible in Afghanistan over the near term.
