According to military officials, at least four militants and three civilians were killed in the fighting, which occurred between 20:00-22:00 (local time). Context

The government's limited presence in the DRC's eastern provinces, as well as the presence of numerous armed groups and local self-defense militias, have led to continued insecurity in the area. Violence has flared up in recent years, with large attacks recorded in Ituri province between 2017-2020.

Advice

Individuals in Ituri province are advised to remain vigilant for militant activity, monitor developments to the situation, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities and their home governments.
