Unidentified gunmen open fire on a vehicle outside Bagram Air Base on April 16, resulting in multiple fatalities; further attacks possible in the near term

At approximately 22:00 (local time) on Thursday, April 16, unidentified gunmen opened fire on a vehicle outside Bagram Air Base (Parwan province), north of Kabul. According to media reports, at least five Afghans were killed and four others were wounded in the attack. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.

Similar attacks are possible over the near term.

Individuals in Parwan province are advised to avoid the affected area, remain vigilant for militant activity, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities and their home governments.
