China: Protests reported in Guandong November 29

Clashes reported between protesters and security forces in Guandong November 29; further protests may occur



Clashes between police and protesters have been reported on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29, in Wenlou (Guandong province), where hundreds of protesters have been opposing the building of a crematorium since Tuesday, November 26. Security forces reportedly used tear gas, injuring several protesters in the clashes. At least 50 protesters have reportedly been arrested.

Further protests are possible. A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are likely in the vicinity of all protests. Clashes between security forces and protesters cannot be ruled out. avoid the area.
