Ukraine: Motorist protests in Kyiv and other cities October 31

Owners of imported cars to hold protests on October 31 in Kyiv and other cities in Ukraine; associated transportation disruptions expected

Protests by owners of imported cars with foreign registrations are set to take place in the capital Kyiv and other cities on Wednesday, October 31. Participants are denouncing rising fuel prices and high custom fees on imported cars. Localized transportation disruptions are expected.

A related protest took place on October 11, during which participants caused severe traffic disruptions by stopping their vehicles on roads.

Individuals in Ukrainian cities are advised to avoid all demonstrations as a precaution and allow for extra time to reach their destinations.
