Spain: Taxi drivers to demonstrate in Madrid December 2

Taxi drivers to demonstrate in Madrid on December 2; avoid all demonstrations as a precaution

Thousands of taxi drivers will reportedly gather in central Madrid on Wednesday, December 2, to protest against City Hall's taxi policies and regulations. Participants will gather at Plaza Cibeles at 11:00 (local time) before travelling via Calle de Alcala, Plaza de la Independencia, Calle de Alfonso XII, Paseo de la R. Cristina, Plaza del Emperador Carlos V, Paseo del Prado before ending back at Plaza Cibeles.

Although the protest is expected to pass peacefully, a heightened police presence and transportation disruptions are expected in the vicinity of the march, and clashes between protesters and police cannot be ruled out.

Those in Madrid are advised to avoid all protests as a precaution, monitor the situation, allow ample travel time, and obey instructions issued by local authorities.
