A "bomb attack" targeted a rally supporting Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in Ambo (Oromia region) on Sunday, February 23, wounding 29 people. Police reportedly arrested six people in connection with the attack.

Similar assaults are possible in Ethiopia ahead of national elections scheduled on August 29. A heightened security presence and localized disruptions to transportation and business are to be expected around political rallies.
