Zoran Milanović wins presidential election on January 5; political rallies and associated disruptions possible in coming days



The leader of the Social Democrats opposition party, Zoran Milanović, won the presidential election on Sunday, January 5, with 52.7 percent of votes. His five-year term will begin on Wednesday, February 19. The incumbent President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović garnered 47.3 percent of votes.
