Event

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has called for a nationwide ''Halla Bol'' ("Raise Your Voice") during Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos' visit, starting on Wednesday, January 15. The protest aims to denounce Amazon's efforts to expand into the Indian retail sector, perceived as unfair for local traders. The CAIT stated that an estimated 100,000 to 500,000 traders are expected to mobilize nationwide.

In Delhi, the protest is scheduled to take place in front of the JLN sports stadium, where Amazon is expected to hold an event on Wednesday.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are expected in the vicinity of all protest.

Advice

Individuals in India are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all demonstrations and protests as a precaution, anticipate business and transportation disruptions, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
