Over a thousand homes were submerged by floodwaters in Jambi province's Sarolangun and Merangin districts following heavy rain on Thursday, November 26. The Sarolangun district Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that up to two meters (6.6 ft) of flooding occurred in some areas. Rice fields were also inundated and impassable bridges and highways have cut off some areas amid the flooding.

Further scattered thunderstorms are forecast over the coming days and could lead to more flooding. Residual disruptions to transport, businesses, and utilities are expected in the area over the near term.
